2020 – The Year for Better Creative Thinking & It’s Implementation

Posted on 26/08/2020 by Admin under Uncategorized

Images shown are some of my Creative Projects during the covid-19 lockdown pandemic and are copyrighted ©Pro Vision Photography Ltd. 2020. Fine art prints and digital files are available for commercial and personal use.

The year 2020. So did anything happen in 2020? What do I mean;”Did anything happen in 2020?!” Everything happened that shouldn’t have happened in 2020! Or, at least, none of it was planned for. If only we knew a pandemic was going to happen. Then again, what would we have done if we knew what to expect?

Self portrait. The man himself. Well, to some extent at least….strange looking guy!
No wonder, my other side is my best side. Maybe you’ll get to see that another time.

For the creative industries, living through a pandemic requires a higher degree of creative thinking to progress through it and deal with the various work and personal circumstances that are “forced upon us”. It’s not necessarily “more” creative thinking required than is normal, just Better Creative Thinking and Implementation.

Flat Bubble World – High resolution fine art macro image of a flat bubble. One of many magnificent and mezmerising flat bubble images captured and turned into fine art photography during 2020. No two bubbles are the same… and they never will be either!

It’s all well and good having a creative mindset and putting it to task, but when you have your result….what do you do with it? If there is no demand or buyers for what you create, what happens to your creation, your art, your imagery? What do you do with it?…store in on your computer or I’m a cupboard, so no one ends up enjoying it?

“Good Quality Photography Involves Good Quality Light“.
I have a couple of portrait ideas along these lines which I’d like to find the time to create. Hopefully I’ll find the time for that soon.

We can still exhibit what we do and work for, regardless of whether there is “current” a demand or not. Today is just one day out of many thousands and this year is also just one year out of many that we have to share. So, go and be creative, think outside of the box, show what you’re made of and LIVE CREATIVELY! Tomorrow is another day to experience too and…yes, it will change and life WILL be communal soon enough again.

Is this what 2020 is going to be known for? Creatives can do one better than have the year known for just this mighty mite. One of several studio images created to represent the covid-19 coronavirus. Used on stock libraries.

The images you’re seeing are just a taste of some of my more recent “Better Creative Thinking and Implementation” during the covid-19 pandemic lockdown. I hope you enjoy them and you carry on with your creative process. I’m only a shutter click away if you need my services onboard.

So how did Simon shoot these bubbles?…

Well, I can’t tell you all my tricks of the trade, but lets see this one. Sit back, relax and enjoy…

Here’s a few recent highlights of some of my other “more usual” photography outside of covid-19 influences… totally different!…but the quality is just as good.

Conference shoot for BT. Late 2019. Ex-England and Manchester United footballer Rio Ferdinand was the VIP on this assignment. My children named our latest Cocker Spaniel, Rio, after him… don’t tell him, just incase he’s not too pleased.
Nikon D5, Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VR II.
Urban Landscape shoot for an architectural designer.
Vision Express Conference 2020. For the best conference images it’s important to light the presenters as well as the stage set.
The Shard in London. A cool, hard feel to this black and white landscape.
Tre Amici. At Excel London, late 2019.
Olive Trees. The Garden of Gethsemane, Jerusalem.
It is recorded that here Jesus was under such extreme mental pressure, suffering for the sins and infirmities of His people, that He bled, as it were, great drops of blood like sweat, from every pore of His body. Under such conditions no mortal could survive, only a God.
For centuries oil from olives is used for its various healing and health promoting properties.
How apt and amazing that such a place be host to such an event!
Euston Station London. 2019. As it would generally be during the hustle and bustle of a normal working day….before the covid-19 pandemic lockdown that is.
Do we want to go back to a busy life of rushing around and staring at screens? Many do. When you think about it, I would guess that most people want the good from these times that it brings to return, but not necessarily everything to go back to as it once was. Yes, take the best of yesterday and take the best of today too, if that is a realistic good future for mankind and the world we live in.
The End of the Production Line. JLR Solihull.
Automotive Industry photo assignment.
Friday Night! We all love a good curry.
Mine’s mild please.
Food photography for a restaurant menu.
Wind Farm. As if springing up from the earth itself, this wind farm overlooks what once was the barn and field of agricultural farmland. Is this our future?
Stonehenge.

Let’s not end on this image. I don’t think we’ll be going back to life as it was when this was built.
Don’t you just love black and white!
The Peak District.
Lets not stare at the past. Learn from it and look forwards to the future. There is a vast horizon out there to explore still. Pick up your bags and your tools and lets go on a creative journey!
